Our pioneering food scheme shortlisted for top award

We are delighted to announce that our work with Lichfield District Council to help provide access to food and vital essentials to vulnerable people has been shortlisted for a major award.

The annual Support Staffordshire Volunteer Star Awards is an evening celebration aimed at publicly recognising and celebrating the valuable contribution volunteer’s play in supporting our community.

Our work to launch a  ground-breaking community hub, which saw the district council identify vulnerable people and work with us to create and deliver vital food packages out of our Boley Park store, has been shorlisted in the Lichfield & DistrictBusiness Contribution to Communities Award’ category.

The virtual celebration will take place on Thursday, 10 June where the winners will be announced. The live stream will commence from 7.30pm.

The hub project in Lichfield, which operated during the height of the pandemic in 2020, helped just under 1,000 people in total.

People still in need of support in terms of accessing food and essentials can find out more about our call and collect and home delivery options here.
