National Playday in Burton sees Thousands of Young People
On Wednesday 21 August a National Playday event was held at Shobnal Leisure Centre in Burton on Trent. The event designed to help give young people free, fun activity proved very popular with over 5,000 members of the community, mostly families coming along to the day.
The free event setup by Everyone Active and East Staffs Council allowed young people to take part in fun activity in a safe space. There were inflatable, football, hockey, bike riding, running, and much more to take part in.
We took along free fruit and fun healthy games to play, including our Fairtrade Snakes and Ladders game, Healthy Eatwell puzzle, and fun quick cricket. It was so busy we were able to give away over 500 pieces of fruit to young people who took part in our fun activity, while also taking the time to talk to families about healthy choices, membership and community activity
A brilliant day was had by everyone who came along, and we also managed a selfie with the Tik Tok sensation Spudman.
