The home of Burton Albion Football Club hosted a special event as part of ongoing efforts to raise awareness around the challenges that men face in the modern world.

Central England Co-op took over the Pirelli Stadium for the day (Tuesday, 16 November) to put on a range of talks and workshops around subjects including mental health, physical health and lifestyle.

Guest speakers included former footballer Shane Nicholson and adventurer Alex Staniforth.

James Knight, Member and Community Relations Officer for Central England Co-op and one of the organisers, said: “I am so proud to have been involved in a great event designed to highlight topics ranging from mental health to lifestyle.
“This event allowed like-minded men from all walks of life to come together to debate, discuss and learn how we can support one another.
“Events like these are important and allow everyone involved to use their voices to talk about their successes as well as the challenges they face.”

Over 100 people attended the event which was held in the run up to International Men’s Day.
