MCC Member Cath named as one of UK's 100 most inspirational women in cycling

In November 2023 Cath Palgrave, Membership and Community Council Member from Birmingham was named among the UK's 100 most inspirational women in cycling. We at Central Co-op are very proud of Cath and her recognition.

Cath Works for the Bike Project in Birmingham, and has supported our bike maintenance events in recent years. Her contributions as a mechanic and lead cycling instructor at The Bike Project have been nothing short of exceptional. Cath's commitment to refurbishing second-hand bikes for refugees and people seeking asylum, coupled with her efforts in teaching riding skills through our Pedal Power programme, has truly made a difference in countless lives.

As Cath beautifully puts it, "Cycle touring has taken me all over the world – such a great way to travel and experience the changes in landscape and culture. Now working as a bike mechanic, I can help others experience that freedom."
