Major investment of almost £118,000 by Central England Co-op brings a brand-new look to Derbyshire food store

A Central England Co-op shop in the Derbyshire village of Duffield has been transformed with an investment of £118,000 giving a boost to the local community.

The food store in Town Street has received a makeover to give it a lighter, fresher feel and includes some exciting new features and ranges for locals to enjoy.

This follows other notable investments in the area in recent months, including over £440,000 spent on transformations of stores in Inkersall, Overseal, Holme Hall and Horsley Woodhouse.

The community food store in Duffield has been undergoing the makeover in recent weeks with changes including:

· New product ranges to suit shoppers’ tastes

· Fantastic new features such as brand-new Tango Ice Blast and F’real milkshake machines

· Refreshed signage and decoration inside

Store Manager Mark Higginbottom said: “It has been great for all the team to see our store receive this investment and it has really put a spring in all our steps.
“The feedback so far from our customers has been really positive. They can’t believe how much the store has been transformed and how good it now looks. It seems a lot more spacious and modern, and they love the new features such as the hot food, and the Tango Ice Blast and F’real milkshakes.
“I’d like to thank the community for their continued support and for their patience while we brought our new look store to life, and I hope they agree with us that it’s been worth it.”

The Town Street Food Store is open Monday-Saturday 7am-10pm and Sunday 8am-10pm. The store has a wide range of products from everyday necessities to something a little more special and also offers a lifesaving defibrillator, cash machine, Lottery, Collect Plus/Paypoint, an instore bakery and a customer car park.
