Fairtrade Assemblies and Workshop are popular with schools

The Northern Membership & Community Council has been preparing students to look at celebrating Fairtrade Fortnight in February/March.  The session includes what fairtrade means to farmers and how buying a bar of chocolate or a banana what a difference it makes to people's lives.  It is not charity but a great way to enable people to have a more sustainable life.  They particularly enjoy the mindfulness chocolate tastings session where they experience milk, white and dark chocolate.  Those of them who want a real challenge also try and 85% cocoa chocolate.  They are also designing a new chocolate bar to celebrate 25 years of fairtrade.  Thanks to our Council members for their fantastic work.
