Communities giving backing to Christmas Toybox Appeal

Donations start rolling in for Central England Co-op's Christmas Toybox Appeal.

Communities giving backing to Christmas Toybox Appeal

Our 2020 Christmas toy appeal is well underway, and it has been great to see our customers and members already making donations and showing support for people in their communities.

Like Kyra and her mum, customers at our new Chartwell Road Food Store in Sprowston who made the first donations to the store’s donation point after deciding to donate toys to the appeal rather than send Christmas cards this year.

Meanwhile our Kibworth store was overwhelmed when a kind-hearted customer dropped off two trolleys full of toys for the appeal.

The appeal runs until December 9 and donation points are located in all 242 stores across 16 counties. Items that can be donated have to be new, unwrapped and can include puzzles, games, soft toys, outdoor toys, books, dolls/figures, CDs/DVDs and art materials.

Gifts will then be distributed to families who might not otherwise be able to afford to put presents under the tree for their children via local charities, community groups and food banks as well as major hospitals and hospices.

Keep posted to www.centralengland.coop and @mycoopfood on Twitter for more information and updates throughout the campaign.
