Central Co-op beaming with Pride in Birmingham

As today marks the start of PRIDE month, on Saturday Colleagues and members came together in Birmingham to celebrate PRIDE. The event was attended by colleagues from all areas of our business including elected members of the Membership and Community Council.

We all met at Centenary Square in Birmingham before the parade to soak in the atmosphere provided by the organisers. The area was full and bustling, and a party feeling was in full swing with all members of the community celebrating together.

The parade kicked off with a walk through Birmingham City Centre. Thousands of people came out to celebrate. Colleagues were giving out Central Co-op Pride goodies including Rainbow Sweets, Badges, Stickers, Hand Flags and Whistles. The atmosphere on the parade was filled with love, laughter, dancing and an overall celebration for our PRIDE community

After the parade it was back to the main arena, where we had our community stand filled with goodies for the public to win. During our interactions with the public Amanda, Adam, Phoebe, Dan, Laurence and myself were on to talk about Central Co-op membership, diversity and inclusivity, along with staffing the stall, and the very popular 'Spin to Win' wheel
