Two more Central England Co-op stores receive makeovers in Birmingham and Norfolk

The stores in Chelmsley Wood and Brundall have relaunched following significant investments.

Two more Central England Co-op stores receive makeovers in Birmingham and Norfolk

Two community food stores in Birmingham and Norfolk where colleagues have been going above and beyond to support locals during these uncertain times has been given a fresh new look following investments totalling over £185,000.

The Central England Co-op in Chester Road, Chelmsley Wood, and The Street, Brundall have received a raft of updates to give them a fresher, lighter feel and to include several new ranges and features to boost its offering to the local community.

The Chelmsley Wood changes include:

·       Improved food to go section with new features such as a brand-new Costa Coffee machine, a Tango Ice Blast machine, Rollover hot dogs and F’real milkshake machine

·       New internal signage and decoration

·       New external community space with benches and planters

Store Manager Tim Holt said: “It is a really exciting time for the store, and we are delighted to have received this investment to bring some fantastic new features which have already had some really positive feedback from our members and customers.
“I would like to thank the community for their patience while the work has been completed but I hope they agree with us that it has been worth it.”

The Chelmsley Wood Food Store is open every day 7am-10pm. The store has a wide range of products from everyday necessities to something a little more special and also offers a lifesaving defibrillator, cash machine, Lottery, Collect Plus/Paypoint, instore bakery and a customer car park.

The transformation at the Brundall store in Norfolk has included numerous changes such as:

·       Improved food to go section with a new hot food offering and new features such as brand-new Tango Ice Blast and Costa Coffee machines

·       New internal signage and decoration

·       New external features such as outdoor seating and a bicycle repair station

Store Manager Mandy Duruk said: “The whole team are really excited about the improvements to the store and particularly for our customers and the community in Brundall as a whole.
“We are delighted with the new additions to the store, particularly with the increased hot food to go and the new Tango Ice Blast and Costa Coffee machines, as well as the great, fresh new look inside.
“We have had really positive feedback to the changes so far from our customers.”
