Two community food stores in Leicester and Nottinghamshire receive makeovers

Two Central England Co-op food stores in Leicester and Nottinghamshire have been given fresh new looks following investments totalling over £230,000.

The stores in Leicester Forest East and Stapleford have received a makeover to give them a lighter, fresher feel and to include some exciting new features and ranges for locals to enjoy.

The Leicester Forest East changes include:

· New product ranges to suit shoppers’ tastes

· Fantastic new features such as brand-new Costa Coffee and Tango Ice Blast machines

· Refreshed signage and decoration inside

Store Manager Matt Greasley said: “It has been great to have had this investment in our store as it has been a tough period through Covid, so this has brought the team and our wonderful community a lot of excitement. It’s like having a brand-new store.

“People have been coming in as the work has progressed and have been really positive about the changes which has been lovely for me and the team to hear.

“I’d like to thank the community for their continued support and for their patience while we brought our new look store to life, and I hope they agree with us that it’s been worth it.”

The Hinckley Road Food Store is open Monday to Saturday 7am-10pm and Sunday 9am-8pm. The store has a wide range of products from everyday necessities to something a little more special and also offers a lifesaving defibrillator, cash machine, Lottery, Collect Plus/Paypoint, an instore bakery and a customer car park.

The transformation at the Stapleford store in Nottinghamshire has included numerous changes such as:

· Fantastic new features such as brand-new Costa Coffee and Tango Ice Blast machines

· Refreshed signage and decoration inside

· New seating area outside for shoppers to take a break

Store Manager Callum Frost said: “We’re really excited to have a new look store and to be able to offer some great new features and a more pleasant shopping experience for our community.
“We’ve had some lovely feedback from our customers – they’ve commented on how much bigger the store feels and that it’s a much more enjoyable shop to visit and a better experience which is so nice to hear for me and the team.
“I’d like to thank the community for their continued support and for their patience while we brought our new look store to life, and I hope they agree with us that it’s been worth it.”

The Hickings Lane Food Store is open every day 7am-10pm. The store has a wide range of products from everyday necessities to something a little more special and also offers a lifesaving defibrillator, cash machine, Lottery, Collect Plus/Paypoint, an instore bakery and a customer car park. It also offers a home delivery service with shopping delivered via an eco-friendly electric van.
