Robin Hood swoops into Boley Park

Tomorrow (Saturday 9th July) between 10:00am and 1:00pm, cast members of the Lichfield Garrick Theatre’s production of “Robin Hood”, will be swapping the leafy arbours of Sherwood Forest for the aisles of our store at Boley Park, Lichfield, to give colleagues & shoppers a sneak preview of the upcoming community show.
At noon Robin & Maid Marion will take a break from the singing songs from the show to speed through the aisles in a supermarket sweep style dash. They will have 30 seconds to fill their trolley and get back to the check out in time to get everything packed up and sent to Lichfield Food Bank as part of a larger donation from Central England Co-op.
This production is born of the local community, Robin Hood: A Brand-New Musical Adventure, has been a long time in the making and has been developed, devised, written, and stars members of the community. We are promised a real treat for audiences, putting a modern twist on the famous fable we all know and love.
Follow the journey from disgraced nobleman to charming thief to leader of a rebel group, as our titular protagonist learns that it’s the family you choose whom you need the most in this tale of adventure, tragedy, and archery!
Jonny McClean, Associate Director at the Lichfield Garrick, and the show’s director, says: “I am overwhelmingly excited to welcome the local Lichfield and Burntwood community to the theatre to join in with, what is for us, a historic event. This is the first time we've ever presented a musical written by the community, performed by the community, for the community.
