Retired Employees' Association in Derby
Central Co-op supporting its Retired Employees' Associations.

Post written by Elaine Dean.

Central Co-op supports our Retired Employees‘ Associations and encourages their activities across our trading areas.
The Derby Association is particularly active with many members and lots of events.

On April 17th they held their Spring Luncheon and party afternoon at the Grange Banqueting Suite in Littleover, virtually next door to our excellent store there with its Insomnia cafe and community room.

There were 8 tables of 10 people and they all enjoyed a beautiful luncheon.
There were 6 rounds of bingo and an excellent raffle. The afternoon ended with a sing song led by a singing group, many of them disabled, who also have sung at our Co-op Christmas Carol Concert.

Members were all encouraged to attend the forthcoming members’ meeting and about 15 signed up.

The Derby REA has many visits planned during the summer, the next one being to Oxford and on to Bourton on the Water where they will visit our neighbouring society Midcounties’ excellent so-called ‘posh shop’ there.

All retired employees are encouraged to join their local retired association.  If you want to know more please contact: member.community@centralengland.coop
