People encouraged to head to Leicestershire Co-op for free coffee and catch up in bid to forge community links

Our Central England Co-op store in Countesthorpe has linked up a charity that aims to support rural communities to help the local community come together.

During September and October, the food store, based in Main Street, will be hosting the RCC Coffee Connect Van in its car park to allow people to grab a free coffee from the barista, chat and build connections with others who live locally.

The van will be onsite between 1.30pm and 3.30pm on 22 and 29 September and 6 October.

Scott Ward, Area Manager, said: “Community is key to our purpose at Central England Co-op and we are delighted to be able to host the RCC Coffee Connect Van during September and October.
“It will allow our colleagues to interact with the local community in a Covid-19 safe way as life begins to get back to normal.
“We cannot wait to see people throughout the next couple of months and encourage as many as possible to come along.”

The retailer’s Southern Membership and Community Council will also be supporting the event on 15 September and 6 October.

The van will also be making a stop at the Central England Co-op store in Ibstock on 28 September and 19 October.
