OurCoop and Leamington FC extend community partnership

OurCoop and Leamington Football Club are strengthening their long-standing partnership, with a new three-year agreement that will support the continued development of the club’s Community Scheme.

The partnership, which first began in 2015, reflects a shared commitment to using the power of football to create positive opportunities for people in the local community.

The renewed partnership comes at an exciting time for OurCoop’s presence in the town, with the Society having recently relocated one of its support centres to Leamington Spa, further strengthening its connection with the local community.

Through the renewed partnership, OurCoop will support Leamington FC’s Community Scheme, which delivers a range of initiatives focused on sports participation, education, health awareness and social inclusion.

The programme aims to promote health and wellbeing while creating more opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to get involved in football and physical activity.

The partnership also marks an exciting new chapter for the club, with its ground now renamed the OurCoop Community Stadium following the coming together of Central Co-op, Midcounties Co-operative and Chelmsford Star to form OurCoop earlier this year.

The new stadium signage has been unveiled alongside Leamington FC’s new home kit for the forthcoming season.

For OurCoop, the partnership is another example of our commitment to supporting the communities we serve and working with local organisations to create a positive, lasting difference.

The club has a strong community presence, with a wide range of teams and programmes, including boys’ and girls’ football, women’s and development teams, a veterans’ team, youth football and a long-running disability programme. Its charitable arm, the Brakes Community Foundation, also delivers a range of community and coaching programmes.
