Local School children learn about Fairtrade

Recently myself and Rolleston on Dove Store Manager Carol attended the local Primary School to deliver a session on Fairtrade.

During the session we spoke about how OurCoop have been supporting Fairtrade for over 30 years by selling items in our stores that guarantee workers and producers of Fairtrade products receive not only a fair price but are also able to use the Social Premium to help their families and their local community. It was great to see such enthusiasm from the children and how they are writing to the Parish Council to see if they can make the Parish a Fairtrade Parish. We also spoke about how the children can encourage staff to consume Fairtrade products and investigate making the School a Fairtrade School.

We are looking forward to working with the school on future Fairtrade and other education workshops.
