Co-op History and Healthy Choices Workshop

Co-op History and Healthy Choices Workshop

This week, we had the pleasure of meeting 70 Asian women who are supported by the Centre for Ethnic Health, based at Leicester University. We were asked if we could come along to one of their sessions and talk about healthy life styles and they were so engaging, we presented our Co-op History talk before moving on to our healthy choices workshop.

We also took the time to answer lots of their questions, with many asking about funeral plans and the possibility of having one of our expert colleagues from funeral planning to go along and talk to them and help them with putting one in place.

They were all so very engaging and welcoming and it would be lovely to make a return visit with one of our other educational workshops.

When we arrived they were praying and chanting for the victims and relatives of the recent Air India flight which was incredibly moving, and we hope that our workshop helped to lighten their mood a little at this very sad time.

With thanks to the Centre for Ethnic Help for giving us the opportunity to meet with the women.
