We’re proud to share that Central Co-op has been shortlisted as finalists in six categories across the prestigious Retail Week Awards and Convenience Awards 2025. These nominations recognise the work of our colleagues, Members and communities who bring our purpose - to create a sustainable Society for all -to life every day.
Retail Week Awards Finalists
⭐ The American Express Inclusion & Diversity Heroes Award
For the creation of our five colleague-led Inclusion Networks, which ensure every colleague has a voice, a community and the opportunity to shape a more inclusive workplace.
⭐ Best New Store Award (Small/Medium)
Our Hambleton eco-store in Lancashire is leading the way in sustainable community retailing - from renewable energy generation to rainwater-harvesting, community herb gardens and cycle-friendly design.
⭐ Responsible Retailer Award
Our Malawi Partnership continues to demonstrate co-operation in action, strengthening livelihoods for farmers in Malawi while engaging Members, schools and colleagues here in the UK.
Convenience Awards Finalists
⭐ Large Convenience Store of the Year – Halesworth, Suffolk
Recognising outstanding service, community leadership and the success of our £2m regeneration, which introduced a coffee shop, enhance food-to-go and a free community space for local residents.
⭐ Multiple Managed Convenience Store of the Year – Stanton, Bury Saint Edmunds
Celebrating a carbon-negative and inclusively-designed store embedded at the heart of village life, led by multi-site Store Manager Nicole Suchy.
⭐ Sales Colleague of the Year – Kerry Ann Bacon, Mansfield Road
Honouring a truly exceptional colleague whose warmth, energy and commitment to customers and community embodies the very best of Central Co-op.
These finalist nominations are a reflection of the dedication of our colleagues, the passion of our Members and the support of the communities we serve. Whatever the final results, we’re incredibly proud of everyone involved and grateful for the recognition of the values that guide us.
