Our Board of Directors has taken the decision to postpone the Society’s Annual Members’ Meetings which were scheduled to take place at the end of April.
We hope that the Members’ Meetings can be deferred until October. In the meantime, we are looking into the possibility of holding an on-line Members Meeting to help us keep in touch with our members and provide updates on what we’re doing. We will provide further details about this as soon as we can. As you may also have read, we will also be postponing all member activities and events until we know we are safe to hold them.
The Board has also carefully considered and unanimously agreed that the 2020 Board election should be postponed at the current time. The Board fully recognises the importance of ensuring the democratic participation of our members, but also feels that holding the election now would be an unhelpful distraction to important priorities faced by our Society. It is fully intended to hold the Board election later in the year.
We know you’ll understand why we have had to postpone these activities. In the meantime, please remember to check our online hub, here, for daily updates on this fast changing situation.
And please, keep safe.
Debbie Robinson and Elaine Dean.
