Exciting changes to Central Co-op Membership launches next week! Built on the feedback from over 20,000 of our Members, who told us what they wanted from our Membership.

Your feedback told us that you no longer want to see Member prices in our stores but instead to have a fair and consistent price that everyone pays. So, we’re moving away from Member pricing, but still staying true to our co-operative values, by sharing our profits with you in the form of cashback-style Reward ££s that you’ll earn as you shop.

Reward ££s will be earned instantly when you pay, ready to use on your next shop or you can choose to save them up for a special treat or a big shop later in the year. You can keep track of your earnings in our newly refreshed Membership app and on your receipt in store from 10^th September.

You also told us that you want to keep earning points to build your annual share of our profits, which will still be part of Membership. But we know it was unclear what you were earning before, and what it actually meant! So, we’ve made it easier to track the points you’re earning, and you’ll be able to see an estimate of what those points will be worth when our annual payout takes place.

Both Reward ££s and your share of the profits will form your Member pot, which you can then spend in-store. You’ll be able to see how much you have, and where you’ve earnt if from in the App as well as on your receipt in store.

You told us that it’d be great to be able to part pay with your balance, giving you greater flexibility as you shop. This will also be available from next week, including if you use our self-checkouts. Giving you the choice to spend your Member Reward ££s on your next shop or to save them up for later – you’ll have 12 months to spend after you earn them.

As part of our new look and feel app, we’re excited to be launching weekly games, giving you the chance to win prizes every week. That could be a freebie to enjoy over the weekend, or a sample of something new in our range. As well as games and challenges that give you more back, the more you shop with us.

On top of all of this, there’ll be exclusive weekly offers where you can save even more, plus limited time deals for even bigger savings – you won’t want to miss these!

A key part of what it means to be a co-op is we’re owned by you, and as our Member owners, we want to bring to life one of our founding values – where you’re recognised and rewarded for your participation in our Society.

Our Community Dividend Fund relaunches soon, as the Community Support Fund - also shaped by your feedback. Where Members who are actively participating with us will get the chance throughout the year to apply for funding to support important projects that make a difference to our communities. The decisions about where that funding is then spent will be decided by Member and Community Councils in each region – those closest to the communities.

This is just the beginning of an exciting road ahead for our co-operative Membership, we’re really looking forward to continuing to bring to life meaningful Membership for you all and can’t wait to see all of our Members enjoying these new features.
