Last week we visited MINT, a project set up by City College Norwich with a focus on getting young people with a barrier to work get sustainable paid employment. We delivered a workshop to help better explain the different job roles we have at Central England Co-operative.
The students we visited are all undergoing work experience in local retail outlets. MCC Chairperson Brad has built a fantastic relationship with this project and we are supporting them with interview practice to help better prepare them for their work experience interviews. We also delivered a snapshot into the history of the Co-operative movement. This helped them better understand the different business models and how the Co-operative is built on values and principles. We also have offered work experience placements to two students to help them develop their knowledge in the world of work.
